Manipuri is one of the six major classical dances of India and is native to the picturesque state of Manipur, in the North-East of India. It is particularly known for its lyrical and graceful movements, beautiful costumes and Hindu Vaishnavism themes with performances of love-inspired dance drama of Radha-Krishna called Raslila being the most popular. The Manipuri dance form draws greatly from the rich culture of the state and is inextricably woven into the life pattern of its people.
